About our Teaching

Student Focus

Teaching is our main focus. We are not happy until you are up and riding with a big smile. We offer help with finding the gear, trips, kiteclub activities that complete the kiting lifestyle. We are committed that our students don't just take a lesson, they are adopted into our kiting community where there is always some friendship and help. You are welcome to always setup and kite at our SoCal kite spot, demo gear and share tips while kiting with others at our. Join us!

Teaching method

You play while we safely guide you so that you can have fun and learn by doing. The needed motor skills will be developed in the proper order resulting in fast learning and high retention rate. It's effective and fun. No boring lectures while you watch, you will be having a blast!

IKO

We are trained IKO professionals. We are insured and certified and adhere to the highest standards in teaching and safety. Safety is our first concern. Instructors are responsible and first aid trained, but most importantly they can teach you to avoid situations of risk and enjoy kiteboarding safely.

Legal Permit

Now instructors must be insured, certified, and permitted by the city of Long Beach. Why? To keep the beaches open to kiting! We have one of 3 permits granted to teach at Belmont: Permit #31636. Please choose a legitimate instructor to protect our beach access. If you are not booking a lesson with us at So Cal Kiteboarding,

Kitesurfari or Kitemasters, then your lesson is not legal and the Beach Patrol may stop the lesson in progress and issue a criminal citatation to the uninsured instructor, and you may lose your money. Book wisely and support our SAFE kite community.

13 years experience in teaching snowskiing/snowboarding in Utah

20 years Power & Sail Boating experience

12 years fitness training instructor

10 years coaching youth sports and competitive club sports

Current First Aid/CPR provider/boating safety

SCKA Board and Kiteclub Director.
